So I decided to do this weeknotes thing on my blog. It gives me something to write about and it’s also a good way to keep track of what happened.
Things that happened
- The weekly Dungeons & Dragons campaign is still going strong. We’re knee-deep in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, and it has been great thus far. Fun fact: last session, my character won an arm wrestling match against a legendary human tavern keeper/fighter named Durnan. This was part of a distraction so other team members could possibly unmask a shapeshifter
- I also acquired a bag for all my D&D gear. It looks so gosh darn organised! It beats the hell out of the old gym bag I used to carry my gear around in before this
- One of my boys was gifted a couple of stick insects at school, so we got a small terrarium from Marktplaats (the Dutch version of Craigslist, if you will), and we spent Saturday morning creating a nice little habitat for them. It turned out really well. No clue where the stick insects went since they’re extremely well-camouflaged
- My wife has bought a flannel duvet for our bed, and it is the best thing ever. It’s so soft, comfy, and a bit heavier than a regular duvet. It makes going to bed at the end of a long day even more worth it
- A big project started at work, which is always exciting. Looks like I’m going to be busy until somewhere in December this year. I’m not complaining… yet
Media consumed
Podcasts
- Euphomet (one of my favorite paranormal podcasts) dropped an episode for the first time in a while. I’m glad they’re back!
Music
- Cello Cloud has been providing me with some lovely ambient tunes while I work. It’s very moody so it fits perfect with the rainy fall weather we’re having over here
Shows
- Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is something we’ve been watching on and off over the last couple of weeks. It’s a mixed bag, to be honest. Episode S01E03 and S01E04 are quite brilliant, but the episode with the biggest stars and budget, S01E06, falls completely flat
Nature
- Droves and droves of crows and other corvids gathering in the trees around the area where I work each evening. It’s quite something to behold! It makes you wonder how the hell they decide to just go and perch in some trees by the thousands
- I bought a big feeder so I can feed my local birds this winter. There’s a European Robin sitting on it as write this
